At Fence America LLC, we prioritize getting it right with our detailed fence installation process. Here’s what you can expect from your initial call to the completion of your new fence.
Step 1 — Free On-Site Estimate
We’ll visit your property to measure the area and discuss your options, providing a clear written quote at no charge. It’s a pressure-free experience with no hidden surprises.
Step 2 — Deposit & Schedulin
When you're ready to proceed, we collect a deposit to secure your spot in our busy schedule. We’ll confirm your installation date and ensure everything is organized for your project.
Step 3 — City Permit
Before any actual work begins, we obtain the necessary permit from the City of Des Moines or your local municipality. This important step protects you as a homeowner and ensures your fence meets all local code requirements. We'll handle the permit fees, which are usually around $70.
Step 4 — Iowa One Call — Utility Marking
Safety is our priority. We reach out to Iowa One Call for comprehensive utility marking of all underground lines before we dig any post holes. This safeguards your yard, home, and our crew against accidental utility strikes.
Important note for homeowners: Iowa One Call marks utilities from your house to the street. Any private wiring between your residence, garage, or any outbuildings needs to be located and communicated to us prior to installation.
Step 5 — Professional Installation
On your scheduled day, our expert crew will arrive to perform the professional installation. We work efficiently and neatly, ensuring that most residential fence installations are completed in just one day. Larger projects exceeding 200 linear feet may take two days to finish.
Step 6 — Final Walkthrough
Before leaving, we conduct a thorough walkthrough of the entire fence with you. We ensure that every post, panel, and gate meets your expectations. Our job isn’t done until you are completely satisfied with the results.
Step 7 — Final Payment & Review
